Very Busy Christmas Season

The Formales side of the family have had a very busy couple of months. I first gave birth to Keaton on October 7th and Marc & Yuka welcomed their first baby, David on December 2nd. Family have been visiting between our house and Marc & Yuka's place since October and I finally got a chance to meet David in person the week before Christmas. It was exciting to hold another newborn because this time, I am an aunt! Marc claims I taught him some bad habits, but hopefully I taught him some pretty good ones too. : ) See you in March!!

Halloween Pic!

Here's Annakin Skywalker (Gannon), an Angel (Keaton), and Mace Windu (Grant) .............

November Update

Here's some pictures of the boys with their sister Keaton. The boys LOVE their sister, they want to help out as much as possible. It's hard to tell them no right now since there isn't very much they can do. Keaton is just eating and sleeping and pooping (oh they love that part).

Keaton is 5 weeks old and just growing. I'm guessing she's at 9 pounds since she gained all of her baby weight and then some at the 2 week old doctor visit. Even though the boys can be noisy and rambunctious with their friends, when Keaton wants something, she will definitely let you know. I thought the house could be pretty loud with two boys, but throw in an upset little baby girl who needs attention...........Otherwise, she is a pretty low key, sweet baby girl. When the boys go off to school, we spend our girl time taking naps and running errands. We're now starting to become more social now that I am adjusting and feeling much better.

Grant just finished fall t-ball and excited about playing in the spring. We are really glad that he has found his sport. He has made some friends on the team and has picked up some skills. If we have a few nice weather days here in Texas, maybe we'll be able to practice hitting and catching outside.

Gannon is almost finished with swimming. We thought he would have liked it so much that he would want to be on a team, but that's not the case. We'll try to find another sport for him. He has enjoyed basketball which we hope he will be playing this winter. We should find out soon.

Welcome Keaton Nichole!!!

She is finally here! We welcome Keaton Nichole Boyer to the family on Tuesday, October 7, 2008. She was born at 5:42pm, weighing in at 8 lbs 5 oz and measuring at 19 in long. We are all making the adjustment of a baby into our home. We just love her!

In the future, www.boyerboys.com will be forwarded to www.boyerkids.com. Please update your link!

Grant's First T-Ball Game - Fall 2008

Here's Grant's picture at bat. I haven't had a chance to go to a game yet, maybe later this season. He has been enjoying himself and understanding the game much better so when spring baseball is here, he'll be a more experienced player.

Gannon has started swim lessons since he stopped soccer. He has been enjoying that and I'm glad he has found a sport to do until winter basketball. I unfortunately don't have a picture of him, I haven't gone to a practice yet, but hope to soon.

In case you didn't know, we are also very close to having this baby girl. I have been put on bedrest for the last couple of weeks and I have 1 more week to go. Hopefully the next blog entry will be of our newest family member!

First Day of School & Baby Girl Report

Above are pictures of the boys' teachers. Grant was excited because they actually have lockers. When Gannon was in kindergarten, they had cubbies. Grant is the only boy on his table and surrounded by blondies. As for Gannon, he's sitting all around guys at the moment.

August 25th was their first day of school. This is the best shot I could get of both of them. Grant was pretty grumpy in the morning, not wanting going to school and he told me when I picked him up that school was "totally awesome!" He was excited about going into the gym and having lunch and recess and seeing his friends at the playground. Gannon said school was more of the same, just a little different. He hasn't given me any news about the girls in his class, but he doesn't like to talk to me about that anymore ~ that's more of a conversation with Dad.

As for baby girl, I went to the doctor today. He told me we are still looking at October. I guess he's keeping me as close to the due date as possible, especially since this is a planned c-section. For those of you who didn't know, Grant was an emergency c-section because he was too big for me to deliver. Anyway, I haven't gained too much weight, I have low blood pressure as always; everything looks normal. I will now start seeing the doctor every two weeks ~ we're getting close. I have had several mini nesting periods, but not the big one yet....

Gannon Gets Braces!

Following my footsteps, Gannon has started Phase I of his orthodontics plan. Here's a picture of day 1. It's already the second day and he has been taking really good care of his teeth, better than he did before. Thank goodness, because that means he'll be out of them that much quicker. He'll be wearing the top braces for about 10 months; all through 4th grade. We're waiting to see what kind of movement he will have on his bottom teeth as we have had the bottom incisors removed.

Richard's Graduation!

Richard and I flew up to Omaha so we could visit the university and to also see him accept his Masters Degree! We are glad he's done with school and just in time. What an accomplishment and I'm glad we made the trip.

With baby #3 coming along, we'll be pretty busy. This was also the same weekend we found out that we are having a girl. We haven't decided on a name yet ~ this has been a 10 year discussion and luckily we have had boy names we both really liked ~ and need to decide by October.

Grant and T-ball!

Here's a couple of pictures I have edited ~ finally! Grant REALLY LOVES BASEBALL!!! Although he looks a little bored fielding, he was more bored because the older boys kept getting the ball (they don't have enough power to hit past the pitcher's mound). Anyway, he loves to bat and by the end of the season (a couple of weeks ago), the coach was able to pitch to him instead of using the tee. He will be playing Blast Ball for 1 more season (July/August) and then he signs up for fall t-ball again. Soo glad we have found something that he likes, soccer was tough to watch and drag him to.

Gannon is 9!

This picture is from Gannon's and Grant's joint birthday party. It was the only decent picture I could catch of him smiling and looking at the camera (that purple line going right through the picsture is a string from a balloon). He has found his independence this year and at the point where he wants to hang out with his friends more than his family. I can't believe how fast he's growing ~ he'll start high school in 5 years!!!

Anyway this smmer, he is growing his hair out. I told him he now looks like Kaka instead of Torres (for those of you not following, international soccer stars). He just laughed but I think he was secretly happy. : )

Boyer Family Update

So for those of you that we haven't had a chance to tell, we apologize. Our family has been pretty busy. Richard just started a new job as the Corporate Compliance Officer with Pinnacle Partners in Medicine. He is enjoying it and so glad for this promotion. Richard is also graduating with his master's degree in leadership on June 7th! Another great accomplishment for him. The boys' updates are below. As for me, I've been pretty busy at work and have received a prestigious award at work (only about 10% of the company receive it). I am truly honored; I have worked with the organization for 2 years in June.

Now for the biggest news of all. We have a new addition to the family. We are expecting and due October 17, 2008. We currently don't know if we are having a boy or girl. We will find out on June 6th.

Grant's Soccer and Pre-K Graduation Pictures

Grant's fall soccer team was disbanded and we saw several of our friends on different teams this spring. Grant is more interested in talking to them than playing soccer. Grant's new sport is Blast Ball/T-Ball. We just took pictures so we will get those posted soon. He even loves going to T-Ball practice!!! I think we found something he likes!

Grant will also be graduating from Pre-K. He's off to Kindergarten next year and ready to be a big kid. Since he is up at the school all the time (Nana volunteers and up at the school all the time), he knows a lot of the teachers and where things are. August 25th (first day of school) will be an interesting day for all of us.

Gannon's Basketball & School Picture

I've been a little behind on posting pictures. Here's some scanned pictures of Gannon from this past school year. Time flies! Gannon started third grade playing soccer and practicing karate. Now at the end of the school year, took a break from both and interested in playing basketball and taking learn-to-skate lessons (anticipating hockey) this summer. He is now even more independent and our house is now an after school stop for the neighborhood kids.

Grant and his cast

Grant went to see the Ortho surgeon on Monday and he looked at his arm, he did fracture his radius. He has to wear a cast for 2 weeks. Here's a couple of goofy pictures of him. I am going to paste on my myspace site what he as actually doing in these two photo stills. If you watch American Gladiator, Grant loves the character/gladiator called Toa. It's pretty funny.

Anyway, Grant's first soccer game with his new team is tomorrow and it's supposed to be raining so he probably won't play. Next week, he'll probably play. Texas league rules say Grant has to have bubble wrap on his cast to play so it will be funny. I'll post that later.

Gannon has his last basketball game this Saturday. I am hoping to finally get some decent pictures of the team. I'll post that soon too.

Grant and his cast

Over the weekend, Grant fell on his arm twice at home, both times when he put his arm down to protect himself. We called the ped immediately and he told us that he should be fine until we can bring him in on Monday. We found out that he fractured his radius and needs to see an orthoped doc to get a cast. The orthoped told us that he probably will end up wearing a cast for about 3 weeks but he can't see him until Grant's arm is no longer swollen. He gets to wear this handy wrap until he goes in. Thank goodness it's not too hot yet or else he would have itching/sweating problems. Uh, and for those of you wondering, no one pushed him. I've told them several times NOT to jump off the bar stool height chair. This time I think Grant was trying to get down and the chair somehow entangled Grant. The second time was when he accidentally rolled off the bed trying to grab his book and fell on the same arm.

On top of all this, Grant caught the flu. This year we didn't get around to getting the kids flu shots and now we regret it. Can't tell from the pictures that Grant hurt himself and has the flu. : )

Stay away from the Boyer household for awhile.............

Gannon's Christmas Party

I was able to make Gannon's class party. When I walked in, they were making this Christmas Tree craft. Pretty cool and easy! They also had a little play where they showed different traditions and sang songs: American, Mexico, German, and English. Gannon was in the Mexico tradition group where they were hitting a pinata. After some food, they played games. Here's Gannon and a couple of his friends around him as he hit the furthest bucket.

Grant at School Program 2007

Grant sang at his school Christmas program. The video is much more fun to watch because the girl next to Grant is singing then Grant realizes that he "daydreamed" a little and got back to the song....

Thanksgiving - Fun with Uncle Mardee

There were all kind of antics the boys played on their Uncle. Here's just a few caught on camera. They were waiting for Aunt Laurie to show up so they decided to do pushups. The other two shots are the boys showing off their "guns."
