Yes, you heard it, Hawaii was actually kind of fun. This time, I went back with both kids and showed them Hawaii - G rated of course. We hit the beach 7 out of the 9 days there and we all got tanned and sunburned. I forgot how intense the sun is compared to Texas! Lesson learned and we are all ok now.
I didn't do the "Back in my day" speech to them, but just took them to places I enjoyed as a kid. Things definitely have changed, some for the better, others for the worst. It's funny going back and you thought as a kid, "this is the best thing ever" and then coming back as an adult that it really wasn't. Anyway, I think the boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves and made Grandma promise she would have to come to Texas next time (maybe after our annual family trip to Lake Tahoe in March?? Hint, hint!).
